About Us
We have been lifelong campers and have passed the love of outdoor life to our two (grown up) children. In fact, it started with Duncan’s parents. Dad Brian said “It doesn’t matter if you come out of a five star hotel or a tent, so long as you have slept warm, dry and comfortable”. We understand what makes a great camping experience and have taken this to the next level with Hengrave Meadow Glamping!

About the Site
We moved to Hengrave, Swannington in 1999 and our two acre meadow has been used for ponies and sheep before lying empty and a bit unloved for a few years. It wasn’t until we started taming it for our daughter’s festival style wedding which was planned for September 2020 that we realised we had something really special we could share. It is an ancient natural meadow with two ponds, gently undulating and sheltered by thick hedge and mature trees. We live on site in The Gardeners Cottage, so will be on hand to help make your stay safe and happy.
Accommodation
We have three brand new bell tents individually furnished with a wood frame double bed, coir matting, rugs, chairs, bedside tables and complete with bedding and linen. Single airbeds/bedding are available for additional guests. Outside you have your own under cover cooking area with picnic bench, camping gas cooker, barbecue and kitchen essentials. You will have your own loo & shower in a converted Shepherds hut just a short walk from your tent, by the old stables.
Also at the old stables is the communal pot wash area with electric points for phone charging, fridge and small freezer (for those all important ice cubes!). Plan your day around the table whilst enjoying a complimentary coffee, or peruse the pre loved books.
New for 2023 we hope you will enjoy the two courtesy bikes for exploring the local area.
